CERTIFIRE Certification

CERTIFIRE is independent third party product conformity for construction products with fire performance.
CERTIFIRE differs from CE Marking in that CE Marking indicates compliance with the minimum regulatory requirements, whereas CERTIFIRE approval indicates that a product meets a more stringent set of standards.
This independent third party product certification is at a higher level; a quality mark, designed to enable manufacturers to clearly demonstrate a difference and superiority of their products compared to those which have achieved the basic CE Marking standards.
Additional CERTIFIRE requirements include manufacture under a certificated ISO9000 quality management system, independent audit testing and a comprehensive field of application document based on carefully chosen tests that helps to ensure that products and systems are used within their approved scope.
The scheme is designed to give confidence to specifiers, enforcement authorities and building owners and occupiers. CERTIFIRE is recognised by regulatory authorities both in the UK and overseas.
Although CERTIFIRE has recently been made a European scheme its success to date has been in the UK where over 280 certificates have been issued.
CERTIFIRE operates schemes for most passive fire protection products including, fire protection to structural steelwork, cavity barriers, penetration seals, ductwork, dampers, fire doors, intumescent and smoke control door edge seals, fire door hardware, fire resistant glass & glazing systems.
